Oslo Pride wants to mark this and has today been granted NOK 500,000 for the project “The Party and the Protest” in connection with Skeivt Kulturår 2022, the Ministry of Culture announced in a press release.
“Rights are not only something you get but something that must be fought for at every opportunity. We are very happy to be able to contribute,” Minister of Culture and Gender Equality Abid Raja (V) said.
On Wednesday, he handed over the important message to board chairman Fredrik Dreyer in Oslo Pride, newspaper Avisa Oslo reports.
“This is an important day for Oslo Pride… Oslo Pride is a celebration and a protest. And the fact that the state recognizes the festival and the celebration is very important,” Dreyer said.
