A garda was hospitalised following a public order incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí attended the scene of a public order incident at William Street in Tullamore at approximately 3.15am on Sunday.
A man in his 20s was arrested for public order offences and during the course of the arrest a Garda member was injured.
The garda was treated at Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for their injuries.
The man in his 20s was due to appear before Tullamore District Court this morning, Monday, in relation to the incident.
Investigations are ongoing in the incident, gardaí confirmed.
