Delhi Police rescued a 15-year-old girl from Rajasthan who was taken to Agra and sold for Rs 60,000. A case has been registered and two persons have been arrested.
The girl was rescued from the home of one Gopal Lal in Rajasthan’s Sikar. Gopal Lal reportedly wanted to marry off the minor girl to his brother-in-law Daanvir, also a resident of Sikar.
The matter came to light after a case was registered at Shalimar Bagh police station. The complaint stated that the minor girl, a resident of Delhi’s Haidar Pur had been missing since September 16.

A dedicated team of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit was constituted under close supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) SK Gulia. The team interviewed relatives and friends of the girl, conducted local inquiries in her neighbourhood and collected vital intelligence.
It was found that the minor girl was in regular contact with a local boy named Neeraj Sonkar, a resident of Haiderpur.
Police also discovered that Neeraj and one Muskan, a resident of Rohini, had taken the minor girl to the home a third associate in Agra. With the help of the associate in Agra, the duo sold the girl to Gopal Lal of Sikar in exchange for Rs 60,000.
Out of the proceeds of the crime, Rs 30,000 were given to Neeraj. The money was recovered from his possession by the police. The other half was taken by Sheetal, the duo’s associate in Agra.
