Kalki 2898 AD new trailer: Big B’s Ashwatthama sings as Deepika Padukone’s guardian
The theatrical release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is right around the corner. Ahead of its release on 27 June, the makers of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ have released a new trailer for the film. The clip takes a deeper dive into Amitabh Bachchan’s character Ashwatthama, who is on a quest to protect Deepika Padukone's character and her unborn child.
The new trailer delves deeper into the dystopian world which is not just run by war, but also by faith and emotions. In the trailer, Ashwatthama is heard telling Deepika Padukone’s character that God resides in her womb.
Deepika Padukone’s character is carrying Kalki, the coming avatar of Kali Yuga, in her womb. The new trailer reveals that Ashwatthama is somehow connected to Kalki and needs to protect Padukone’s character for some prophecy or fate to unfold.
Additionally, in the new trailer, Kamal Hassan’s character is finally revealed. In the Nag Ashwin directed science fiction film, Haasan will play a sage. His introduction was super cool. His character was levitating and Haasan looks unrecognisable as the sage.
The trailer also shows epic fight scenes between Amitabh Bachchan’s Ashwatthama and Prabhas’ Bhairava. The two, who are both so strong, destroy everything that comes between them to defeat the other. In the trailer, Bujji is also given a whole new ‘Transformers’ look as the vehicle helps Bhairava as his loyal sidekick.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ boasts a star studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in key roles.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ will release in theatres on 27 June in multiple languages. The film’s tone and colour are making it being compared with Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune.’
