Kalki 2898 AD: Chiranjeevi Praises Prabhas, Deepika Padukone's Film, Says 'Make The Flag Of Indian Cinema...'

Chiranjeevi penned a heartfelt congratulatory note for the team of Kalki 2898 AD.

Nag Ashwin’s long-awaited directorial project, Kalki 2898 AD, has finally hit the screens. Starring powerhouse performances from Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, the film delves into a modern rendition of Lord Vishnu’s incarnation on Earth to battle malevolent powers. With rave reviews flooding in from all corners, Chiranjeevi has extended his congratulations to the entire team behind Kalki 2898 AD.

On Thursday, Chiranjeevi took to his X(formerly Twitter) handle and penned a heartfelt congratulatory note. It read, “Hearing fabulous reports about #Kalki2898AD! Kudos to @nagashwin7 for your creative genius for making this Mytho-Sci-Fi futuristic film with such stellar star cast with @SrBachchan #Prabhas @deepikapadukone & @ikamalhaasan. Hearty Congratulations to my favourite producer @AshwiniDuttCh garu, the passionate & courageous @SwapnaDuttCh #PriyankaDutt & the entire team for this achievement. Earlier in the day, SS Rajamouli has also heaped praises wrote, “Loved the world-building of #Kalki2898AD… It transported me into various realms with its incredible settings. Darling just killed it with his timing and ease… Great support from Amitabh ji, Kamal sir, and Deepika. The last 30 minutes of the film took me to a whole new world. Kudos to Nagi and the entire Vyjayanthi team for their unmatched efforts in executing it.”

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD’s OTT rights are bagged by two of the biggest streaming giants in the country. The film’s Hindi version has been reportedly bought by Netflix for Rs 175 crore. While the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions of the film are secured by Amazon Prime Video for a whopping Rs 200 crore. The news is yet to be confirmed.

The film has unsurprisingly generated huge ticket sales on its release day, on all its language versions, going by the recent reports. According to the information by an industry tracker website, the film sold over 1 million for its premiere day. In the pre-sales business alone, the film has collected Rs 37 crore. The predictions state that the film could earn Rs 200 crore in its first day, which includes the collections from global markets like US, where it recorded impressive ticket sales.

Kalki 2898 AD is directed as well as written by Nag Ashwin. The ensemble cast includes names like Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani among others. Some prominent names like Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, S S Rajamouli and Mrunal Thakur are said to have appeared in cameo roles. It is produced by C Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies. The music in the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan and the cinematographer is Djordje Stojiljkovic. The editing is done by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The film is reportedly made under a budget of Rs 600 crore. Initially, it was set to release on May 9, but it was shifted to July 27 due to unfinished production work.
