KEC International gets new orders worth ₹1,025 crore in T&D and cable businesses
Infrastructure company KEC International Ltd on Wednesday (June 26) said it has secured new orders worth ₹1,025 crore in its transmission & distribution (T&D) and cables businesses.
In the T&D sector, the company has been awarded a 765 kV GIS Substation project by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) in India. Additionally, the company has secured a comprehensive 225 kV composite project in West Africa, which includes transmission lines, substations, and underground cabling.
In the Americas, KEC International will supply towers, hardware, and poles, further strengthening its presence in the region. The cables business has also seen substantial orders, with new contracts for the supply of various types of cables both within India and internationally.
"The business has secured orders for T&D projects in India, Africa and the Americas: 765 kV GIS Substation in India, from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), 225 kV Composite project including Transmission line, Substations & Underground cabling in West Africa and supply of towers, hardware and poles in Americas," according to a stock exchange filing.
Vimal Kejriwal, MD and CEO of KEC International said, "We are pleased with the continuous inflow of orders, especially in our T&D business. The orders in T&D have substantially expanded our order book in both domestic and international markets.
With the above orders, our YTD order intake has surpassed ₹4,000 crore, with a staggering growth of over 70% vis-à-vis last year. These orders along with the orders announced earlier during the year, reaffirm our confidence in achieving the targeted growth going forward."
Shares of KEC International Ltd ended at ₹864.65, up by ₹8.60, or 1.00% on the BSE.
