vodafone idea tariff hike: jio impact? full list of plans
Following in the footsteps of Jio and Airtel, Vodafone Idea (Vi) announced on Friday the launch of new plans for its prepaid and postpaid users, which are scheduled to go into effect on July 4, 2024.
The telco stated that the modifications to entry-level plans are limited in keeping with its strategy of assisting entry-level users while connecting higher rates to growing usage.
"Vi is planning significant investments over the next few quarters to further enhance the 4G experience as well as launch 5G services," it stated.

Notably, because of the significant expenditures in 5G services, this is the first significant rate hike by telcos since 2021, with the goal of increasing average revenue per user (ARPU). Customers can access new plans through all of the current channels and touch points, according to the telecom operator.

While there are slight price increases associated with the new unlimited phone calling options, the benefits are significant. For example, the 28-day plan that was previously priced at Rs 179 now costs Rs 199 and offers 300 SMS, 2GB of data, and unlimited talking. Comparably, the 84-day plan, which was once priced at Rs 459 but is now available for Rs 509, provides 6GB of data in addition to 300 SMS and unlimited calling. The yearly package, which was previously priced at Rs 1799 but now includes 300 SMS, 24GB of data, and unlimited calling, has been reduced to Rs 1999 for long-term subscribers.
