England captain Jos Buttler helped his side make a great comeback against South Africa during Match 45 of the T20 World Cup on Saturday, June 21 at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia. Notably, the Proteas had got off to a brilliant start with openers Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks adding 87 runs for the first wicket from 59 balls.
Their stand was finally broken by Moeen Ali who got rid of Hendricks (19 off 25) in the tenth over. Despite losing his opening partner, De Kock continued to attack the English bowlers and raced to 65 off just 37 balls. It took a brilliant catch from Buttler to dismiss the South African opener.
After leaking 21 runs from his first over, Archer returned to bowl his second gave away just three runs from the first four balls. The speedster bowled a slower bouncer on the fifth delivery as De Kock tried to guide it over third man but could only manage to get an outside edge. The ball seemed to be flying away from Buttler behind the stumps, however, the wicketkeeper put in a full length dive towards his left to take a stunning one-handed catch to get the key wicket.
Two overs later, Buttler once again showed his great presence of mind as he inflicted a brilliant run out to get of the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen in the 14th over. On the fifth ball of the 14th over, Mark Wood bowled a wide delivery down the leg side as Buttler failed to collect it one go. Sensing an opportunity to steal a single, David Miller quickly left his crease to reach the striker's end while Klaasen didn't run with full intensity assuming he would reach home safely.

However, he was caught off guard by Buttler who quickly turned and hit a bulls eye throw at the non striker's end to find Klaasen short of his crease. As a result, England saw the back of the dangerous Proteas batter for just 8 (13). Courtesy of their brilliant bowling and fielding, England restricted South Africa to 163/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
