Gulshan Devaiah says Ranveer Singh would totally sink into his character while doing Ram-Leela. The two actors collaborated on the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial in 2013. Gulshan spoke about how it would sometimes get challenging to match the same wavelength with Ranveer due to his high energy level.

Speaking Siddharth Kanna on his YouTube channel, Gulshan revealed how Ranveer would sometimes cry in a corner after shooting an emotional scene. "On the sets of Ramleela, sometimes after doing an emotional scene, he would sit in a corner and cry. Now you can look at it as attention seeking, maybe it was. But maybe there is some truth to it also. Maybe he is unable to shake it off. I have seen him cry a couple of times," Gulshan said.

Gulshan played the character of Bhavani in Ram-Leela, who secretly plots to break the bond of Ram and Leela, played by Ranveer and Deepika Padukone respectively. The movie was based on Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, and Gulshan's role was on lines of Paris in the original story.

In the same interview, he also spoke about how Ranveer, known for his energy on sets, was always like a movie star even before he actually became one. "He is very energetic. He has always been like this, extremely energetic. You can call it attention seeking but some people have that thing. He projects himself like a movie star that’s because he believes he is a movie star," Gulshan said.

"Sometimes, I would walk in a corner after doing a take with him because he is so energetic. His energy is so much that sometimes it is not sustainable for someone to match that. You get affected by it. Sometimes you don’t want to deal with it. Sometimes you want peace," he added.

Referring to his two-week acting workshop with Ranveer in the past, the 46-year-old further shared, "The way he would walk, even back then, you could see he is a star because that’s how he looks at himself."

Gulshan, who is winning praise for his latest web series Bad Cop, is now gearing up for the release of spy-thriller, Ulajh starring Janhvi Kapoor.
