Kylian Mbappe’s participation in the remaining part of Euro 2024 has been a huge concern. The Real Madrid forward broke his nose when he collided with Austrian defender Kevin Danso in the last match.

But Mbappe won’t be able to wear it as UEFA regulations won’t allow him to wear a multi-coloured mask during a game in Euro 2024. The player will have to find an alternative solution as he needs to wear a mask which is of a single colour. UEFA is unlikely to sanction a special exemption for the forward.

As per UEFA’s Article 42, “Medical equipment worn on the playing field must be of a single colour and must not allow the team or manufacturer to be identified.”

Coach Didier Deschamps confirmed they are doing everything to make the player ready for the Netherlands match. "Everything is going well, after the shock we had. He was able to take part in some light exercises yesterday, and that will be the same this evening. Everything is evolving in the right direction.

"We'll do all we can to ensure that he'll be available tomorrow."

The French Football Federation needs to validate the mask by the UEFA before the match. France defeated Austria 1-0 in their first match and a win against Netherlands should be enough to secure a place in the next round.

Mbappe hasn’t scored in the European Championship since he made his debut and he will be gunning to break his Euro drought in the next match. Alongside England, France are tipped as one of the favourites this time and Mbappe needs to be at his best if Les Bleus are to lay their hand on their third European Championship title.
