Fully built 50,000th bus rolls out from this company's MP plant. Not Tata or Mahindra
Eicher Trucks & Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), today announced the rollout of its 50,000th fully factory-built bus from its Baggad Plant in Madhya Pradesh. The milestone vehicle is the Eicher Skyline Pro E electric bus.
VECV is among the largest bus manufacturers in India. It takes on the likes of Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Ashok Leyland in the bus segment.
The 43-acre Baggad plant of Eicher Trucks & Buses was inaugurated in 2013. It manufactures a diverse range of buses, including light, medium, and heavy-duty variants in diesel, CNG and electric powertrains.
The Baggad facility also takes care of the domestic and international markets catering to school, staff, route permit, intercity and tourist segments. The plant is also equipped with advanced robotic paint systems and certified for integrated management systems.

Eicher Trucks & Buses has adopted strategies to achieve zero waste by reducing packaging waste and implementing safe disposal practices for hazardous materials. The Baggad plant operates on 42% renewable energy sources such as solar and mini-hydel. The facility was certified as Platinum Green Factory building by IGBC in 2016 and awarded Smart Factory of the Year in 2021.
