Taylor Gray looking for breakthrough victory at Nashville Superspeedway

Taylor Gray seems to be on the verge of victory in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
The 19 year-old driver is putting together an extremely consistent season so far in 2024, sitting 72 points above the playoff cut line with four races remaining in the regular-season.
However, Gray hasn't just been consistent, but consistently in the mix to win races. In a series that is among the most chaotic racing series in the world, consistently running inside the top-five is no small feat. Gray boasts seven top-10 finishes through the first 12 races of 2024, including a stretch of six consecutive top-seven finishes from Las Vegas to Texas.
While the No. 17 team has fallen on hard times as of late v finishes of 13th, 12th and 30th comprise their last three races — they're capable of finding speed at any moment, and with a four-week break in between races to regroup, Gray should be viewed as a big threat when the green flag flies on Friday.
Gray's best performance of the season on an oval came at Las Vegas, where Gray led 16 laps en route to a fourth-place effort. While it was Rajah Caruth who went on to grab the victory, Gray proved that he could compete for the win, holding off Caruth for a few laps before the No. 71 truck got around him.
A victory for Gray on Friday would be his first in the series, guarantee him a playoff berth and serve as a huge momentum boost after a rough three-race stretch.
For Gray, one win could be all it takes to open the floodgates and see the final form of a No. 17 team that looks to be among the best in the garage area.
