Delhi NCR Continues To Be On Alert Over Heavy To Medium Rainfall | Delhi News Today | News18
Shifting focus on bringing you up to speed with all the major developments in the national capital, Delhi NCR witnessed severe water logging and traffic jams after heavy rains lodged the region yesterday. Delhi NCR, in fact, continues to be on alert after IMD predicts heavy to medium rainfall over the weekend. Politics has of course erupted amid severe water logging with the ruling AAM Aadmi Party government blaming the drainage system for water logging. Responding to all the allegations levelled by AAM Aadmi Party, Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav criticized the Delhi government for its inaction. Despite multiple reminders now Delhi LGBK 6 NR reviewed the waterlogging situation and has in fact hit out at the AAM Aadmi Party regarding the pending flood control order and desalting of drains in Delhi. Meanwhile, after a portion of roof of the Delhi Airports Terminal 1 collapsed due to rain killing one person, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has held a high level review meeting and issued advisory over the passenger safety. Monsoon kafi advance kar chuke hai agaris map me dekhte hai to abhi aapka monsoon kajol line jariye Rajasthan ke zadar hisse S Haryana Delhi S Uttar Pradesh or E Uttar Pradesh ka kuchor hisse sabse zada Jo record I hamare sadajinka observatory say doso Thais millimeter or baki sabhi dilli ka observatory say kafi zada atibhari varshatak aneka report I hai. What you would like to know is what are the steps that you're not taking? No, right after the incident happened, I felt it was my responsibility as the minister to be there at the site and to look into the rescue efforts and to take the right decisions at the right time. So that was what I was into in the right in the morning. And once I took an inspection of the site, I wanted all the officials to have a good vision of what has happened there and how the incident would have happened. And I wanted them to take in the incident. And then we came back to the ministry and we had several review meetings like you mentioned, from all departments. I've called in all the people from all departments, all the experts, all the people who are leading here, the all the officials and our whole intention, my priority has been to find out why it has happened and not and to ensure that it doesn't happen again. And the second thing which has also been the core of my focus has been right from the day one of my ministry is the passenger, the comfort of the passenger, the ease of flying of the passenger. So these are the two things that I wanted to target through the review meetings. So we have come up with certain decisions. We are sending a team from IIT Delhi from the structural engineering department. They are going to the airport and they've got some good experts from the IT. They are exploring and inspecting and trying to give us an initial report based on which we are going to take further action whatever is necessary.
