Motorola finally unveiled its AI-powered smartphone, the Edge 50 Ultra in the Indian market. The Edge 50 Ultra is the top of the line smartphone in the Edge 50 series. The company previously made the Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Fusion available in India in interesting Pantone shades. However, with the Edge 50 Ultra, the company has attempted something entirely different– introduced the phone in a wooden rear panel, which has a pleasant fragrance, another unique factor introduced by Motorola in its smartphones. Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Price and availability 

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has been launched in India at a price of Rs 59,999 for the 12GB+512GB variant. However, Motorola is offering an introductory discount of Rs 5000 on the smartphone, which brings the price down to Rs 54,999. You can get an additional discount of Rs 5000, if you have ICICI Bank card or HDFC bank card, you get an additional discount of Rs 5000. So if you combine all the discounts together, you can get the phone for as low as Rs 49,999. The first sale of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will take place in India on June 24,  2024, 12PM on Flipkart, Motorola.in and leading retail stores including Reliance Digital.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: Specifications

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra runs on the latest Android 14 operating system and is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform processor, ensuring smooth and fast performance. It comes with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which can be boosted by an additional 12GB, and offers 512 GB of built-in UFS 4.0 storage, giving you plenty of space for all your apps, photos, and files.

Security is top-notch with an on-screen fingerprint reader, face unlock, ThinkShield, and Moto Secure. The phone is equipped with a variety of sensors including proximity, ambient light (front), a 3-in-1 sensor (exposure, auto white balance, flicker), accelerometer, gyroscope, SAR sensor, and magnetometer (compass).

The battery is a solid 4500mAh, promising over a day of life (up to 40 hours). Charging is incredibly fast with 125W TurboPower, which can give you a full day's power in just under 7 minutes. It also supports up to 50W wireless charging and 10W wireless power sharing.

The display is a standout feature with a 6.7" Super 1.5K (1220p) pOLED screen. It supports HDR10+ and offers over a billion shades of color with 100% DCI-P3 color space and a 144Hz refresh rate. It also has a touch rate of 360Hz in gaming mode, DC Dimming, LTPS technology, and can reach peak brightness of 2500 nits. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 161.09 x 72.38 x 8.59mm and weighs 197g. The body features a front made of 3D Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with an anti-fingerprint coating, a sandblasted aluminum frame, and a rear that can be either vegan leather or real wood. It is also IP68 water-resistant.

For connectivity, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra includes a USB Type-C port (USB 3.1 gen 2 compatible), DisplayPort 1.4, dual SIM (pSIM + pSIM), Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, and a range of location services such as GPS, AGPS, LTEPP, SUPL, Glonass, and Galileo. The phone also supports a variety of network bands for 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G.

The camera setup is impressive with a 50MP main sensor, 50MP ultrawide angle with macro vision, 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a laser autofocus sensor. The front camera is a powerful 50MP with multiple AI-driven features. The phone also includes dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning and three microphones for superior audio quality.
