The first CMF Phone is coming and it is no longer a secret. The device is all set to make its debut on July 8. Ahead of the official unveiling, the company has been sharing some teasers, hinting at what the device will look like with a big claim on how different it will be from its rivals in terms of design. The company is also quite confident about the performance of the CMF Phone 1, with a claim that it will offer the best processor in its segment. Now, CMF by Nothing has published another short video clip on X, hinting at back panel design details. A few features of the device have also leaked online. Here is everything you need to know.
The teaser didn't reveal the full back panel design of the CMF Phone 1 but hinted that the device will have a removable back cover design. There is a screw at the back, which will likely allow users to remove the back panel. But, the purpose of this is currently unknown. One of the previous teasers revealed that Nothing will bundle a SIM plate ejector as well as the screwdriver along with the phone. While this sounds fun, it will be interesting to see what will be the purpose of this.
The company is leaving no chance to make you feel that the CMF Phone 1 will have a unique design. The teasers have also confirmed that the device will feature a wheel at the bottom lower side, but the functionality of this is currently unknown. Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has claimed that its new CMF Phone 1 will be equipped with the "best processor" in its price segment. While he didn't reveal the name of the chipset, tipster Yogesh Brar claims that the CMF phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset.
Under the hood, we could see a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging. While these details are yet to be confirmed by the brand, we do know for sure that the company won't bundle a charger with the smartphone.
The image, which has been leaked by Gadget Bits, shows that the CMF phone will have a plain back panel with no semi-transparent design or textured appearance. The back could house the CMF logo and a dual camera setup too, positioned vertically. At the bottom, there could be a small wheel, the existence of which is currently unknown. The device might come with a removable back panel, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Tipster Technerd_9 claimed to have obtained the key specs of the CMF Phone (1) on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the device would come with a polycarbonate back panel. It will also have a vegan leather finish, something that the official teasers also suggested.
The CMF phone will likely be priced under Rs 20,000 because the company is selling its Nothing Phone 2a at Rs 24,000 in India. It will be interesting to see how Nothing will convince users to buy its mid-range phone over other solid devices.
