Kamal Haasan on hooch tragedy victims: 'Psychiatric counselling should be given to them'

See, I cannot say I have no sympathies for these victims, but these victims will have to understand they've exceeded their limit and they've been careless. They have to be careful. They have to take care of the health. There are enough available liquor more than pharmacies. We have to ask for my request to any government, not just non government which is existing now, the previous and the governments to come. My request would be to create psychiatric centers which will counsel them out of this delirium tremens that they are suffering now. It has to be occasional drinking, social drinking if at all. But they must understand that exceeding limit in any form, be it sugar, anything is bad and this necessarily is bad. Drinking and driving, drinking and going to office, all this will have to come into our culture and its as old as thirukural. So you cannot say that will make it go away. It is there, it has to be run properly. Kautilya Artha Shastra talks about a spirit inspector called Sura Daksha. So we have been what they call systemizing it. Now we will have to see that their system survives alcohol. Thank you.
