However, the commercial service of this train commenced on June 28.

The country’s 20th Vande Bharat Express operates between Patna and Ranchi -- the state capitals of Bihar and Jharkhand, respectively. The train is being maintained and operated by the East Central Railway (ECR) zone.

The Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express runs six days a week except Tuesday. The train provides world-class facilities to the passengers.

Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express: Ridership

Train number 22349/22350 Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express has gained a lot of popularity among the passengers. Around 1,64,000 passengers travelled by train between June 28, 2023, till June 21, 2024. During this period, the occupancy of the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat train with a capacity of 530 passengers was 100 per cent and 309 trips were made by this train.

Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express: Revenue Generation

Since its inception, the Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express has generated revenue of Rs 31.32 crore (till June 21, 2024). If seen separately in the up and down direction, during this period, train number 22349 Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat train generated revenue of Rs 15.27 crore while 22350 Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat train generated revenue of Rs 16.05 crore.

Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express: Distance, Travel Time

The Patna-Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express train covers the distance of 379 km between Patna and Ranchi in just 6 hours (in each direction). Its operation has reduced the dependence of passengers on Jan Shatabdi Express. Better food facilities have also been provided to the passengers on this train.

While travelling, this ultra-modern train runs along the tunnels, made by cutting through the rugged hills between Koderma and Barkakana, to get a pleasant experience of panoramic views of natural beauty during the journey. The launch of this train between the two states - Bihar and Jharkhand, has not only boosted tourism but also given an impetus to industries and business activities. This rail service has reduced the distance between Ranchi and Patna by about 40 km, which has also reduced the travel time.
