Nagarjuna Reviews Kalki 2898 AD, Says Amitabh Bachchan Is ‘Original Mass Hero’

Kalki 2898 AD has been receiving love and appreciation from fans and critics alike. The recent addition to the list of the film’s fan club is veteran star Nagarjuna. The actor heaped praises on the sci-fi thriller in a post. He has also given a shout-out to Kalki 2898 AD’s star-studded cast. Nagarjuna started by listing the things he liked about the Nag Ashwin directorial and wrote, “Congratulations to the team of Super duper Kalki 2898 AD. Naagi you took us to another time and another place, entwining fiction with mythology and history so effortlessly.”

Showering love on Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna added, “Amit Ji, the original mass hero… Sir, you are on fire. Can’t wait to see Kamalji in the sequel… Did not get enough of him.”

For Baahubali fame Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, Nagarjuna said, “Prabhas you did it all over again. Deepika ji you look so ethereal and convincing as the divine mother! And the rest of the team. Ashwini Dutt Garu, dear Sweety and Swapna, God bless you! Indian cinema has done it again.”

Kalki 2898 AD was released in theatres on June 27. Within just four days of its release, the film has already collected Rs 555 crores worldwide at the box office.

Apart from Nagarjuna, Amitabh Bachchan’s son and actor Abhishek Bachchan has also shared his reviews for the film. The Ghoomer actor simply wrote, “WOW.” Abhishek watched the movie with Amitabh Bachchan, who played the role of Ashwatthama in the film.

News18 Showsha, in its review of the film, wrote, “Kalki is an out-and-out Amitabh film. Even though we see very little of him in the first half, the actor’s screen time increases in the second half. The intensity with which he delivers his dialogues is worth praising. Prabhas’ Bhairava and Bujji add an element of humour to Kalki 2898 AD. Even though Prabhas’ action sequences in the first half lack energy, he stuns all with his fierce avatar in the second half of the film. His face-off with Amitabh surely deserves a special mention and is one of the major highlights of the film.”
