GAIL Share Price Target 2024: The building of India's most ambitious project, the Rs 12,940-crore 'Urja Ganga' gas pipeline, which would transport environmentally friendly fuel to the country's eastern regions, has been delayed by nine months and will now be finished by March 2025, according to state-owned GAIL. The 3,306-kilometer Jagdishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra pipeline was initially scheduled to be completed in June 2024. However, due to a "delay in right of use (RoU) availability," the completion date has been pushed back from June 2024 to March 2025, GAIL stated in a stock exchange statement.
The majority of the pipeline has already been built, and gas has begun to flow in most communities along the route. Natural gas has traditionally been accessible for use as a fuel to produce power, create fertiliser, or convert into CNG and cooking gas exclusively in the country's western and northern regions, since pipelines transporting the fuel from source to consumer were confined to these areas.
In October 2016, work began on a pipeline connecting Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh to Haldia in West Bengal, Bokaro in Jharkhand, and Dhamra in Odisha. The 726-kilometer-long line was built from Barauni in Bihar to Guwahati in Assam to provide petroleum to previously unconnected eastern states.
