The police have finally filed a charge sheet in the Salman Khan firing case against the five accused of plotting to kill the actor.
According to the Navi Mumbai Police, the accused of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang have been named in the firing. On April 14, two men riding bikes opened fire at the Bandra house of Salman Khan in the wee hours when the actor and his family were asleep.
As per the charge sheet, Lawrence Bishnoi's gang had given a contract of Rs 25 lakh to kill the actor.
The chargesheet further reads that from August 2023 to April 2024, they were planning how they could execute their plan to target the actor.
The police investigation has also revealed that the gang was going to buy arms and ammunition, including AK-47s, AK-92s, and M16 rifles, from Pakistan.
The Turkish-made Zigana pistol, which was used in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on May 29, 2022, was also acquired.
The gang members also did proper surveillance of the actor, and according to the charge sheet, close to 60–70 people were involved in tracking Salman's every movement, like his Panvel farmhouse, Bandra residence, and Goregaon, where he visited for his shoots.
As per the charge sheet, young teens below the age of 18 were hired to execute this assassination bid, who were reportedly waiting for orders from Goldie Brar and Anmol Bishnoi.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had also met Salman Khan and his family, assuring them that the culprits would be arrested soon.
"The government is with you, I have told Salman Khan. Both of the accused have been arrested. They will be interrogated. We will get to the root of the case. Nobody will be spared. Nobody should be targeted this way," said Shinde at the time.
The first arrests were made in Bhuj, Gujarat, and then subsequent arrests followed. Salman Khan has been provided Z Plus security, but the actor continues with his work and is currently shooting for Sikandar.
