From June 22 to June 28, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian Center for Space Surveillance and Communication in occupied Crimea, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Telegram.

As noted by the department, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to degrade the enemy's combat potential and capabilities. This week has been particularly noteworthy for Ukrainian fighters.

They managed to strike the Russian Space Surveillance and Communication Center in temporarily occupied Crimea, which is a crucial military component in Russia's satellite communication and navigation system.

This is the first official confirmation of a strike on this position.

Additionally, they targeted the Osa anti-aircraft missile system, designed to cover Russian forces in all types of combat operations. A Su-25 ground attack aircraft and two BM-21 Grad rocket launchers were also destroyed.

What preceded

On Sunday, June 23, strong explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea. At that time, the Russians claimed there was a missile strike on the peninsula. However, the Ukrainian side did not officially confirm this.

Later, Defence Express news agency reported that Ukrainian defenders had attacked the remote space communications center near Yevpatoria.
