After today's debates between Democratic President Joe Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump, discussions have arisen within the Democratic Party about a potential replacement for Biden in the upcoming presidential election, reports New York Times.

As noted by the New York Times, the issue stems from Biden's unconvincing performance during the debates, including frequent stumbles, a weak voice, and an inability to clearly articulate his party's positions on key issues.

"Parties exist to win. The man on the stage with Trump cannot win. The fear of Trump stifled criticism of Biden. Now that same fear is going to fuel calls for him to step down," quoted a senior Biden campaign official, according to the New York Times.

"Guys, the Dems should nominate someone else - before it’s too late," wrote Andrew Yang, who ran against Mr. Biden for the Democratic nomination in 2020.

The possibility of replacing Biden with another Democratic candidate has also been actively discussed by Democratic representatives in prime-time broadcasts on major American TV channels.

At the same time, replacing a presidential candidate at such a late stage may be a technically daunting task. Vox noted that all 50 states had already held primaries, and Biden had overwhelmingly won the delegates. It was emphasized that only Biden himself could instruct these delegates to vote for someone else, as they were pledged to support him unless he withdrew his candidacy before the Democratic National Convention in August.

Today during the debate, Donald Trump criticized as unacceptable for US Putin's peace conditions regarding Ukraine; he stated that the US had turned into a third-world country where the government persecutes its political opponents, and Ukraine won't win a war against Russia.

Biden stated that the Russian President won't stop at Ukraine. According to him, Poland and Belarus are next.
