Scholz on Putin's peace proposal: Those who believe it watch too much Russia Today

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has rejected dictator Vladimir Putin's proposal to end the war, according to Deutsche Welle.

"Anyone who believes that Ukraine will survive this and that it will lead to lasting peace in Europe is obviously watching way too much Russia Today," Scholz stated.

According to him, Putin is still betting on the continuation of the war. This becomes particularly evident with Putin's ceasefire proposal.

"After all, it (Putin's plan - ed.) is not about a ceasefire. No, it also mentions that Ukrainian territories not yet occupied by Russian troops must be transferred to Russia in violation of international law, that Ukraine must be demilitarized and that it must refuse any military assistance in the future," Scholz emphasized.

In early June, Russian President Putin once again started talking about peace talks with Ukraine. This happened on the eve of the first Peace Summit organized by Ukraine in Switzerland.
