Ruto was coming out to the dias to address the nation over the nationwide protest against the Finance Bill 2024.
In his speech, the head of state acknowledged public outcry and stated that he had consulted widely and reached an agreement to concede.
"Having consulted and listened keenly to the people of Kenya, I concede that they want nothing to do with this Finance Bill. Consequently, I will not sign the Bill and will therefore be withdrawn," he said.
But what tickled Kenyans was how the leaders cheered him as he approached the dias to make his speech.
The leaders, who were already seated, stood and clapped for him while all smiled to welcome him.
Comedian Njugush shared the part and joked that that is the reaction he is given when he is the one paying the bills.
"When he is the one paying the bill," he wrote.
Kenyans were tickled by the post, and they trooped to the comment section with hilarious comments.
