Martin Lewis awkwardly changes the subject after woman brings up divorce drama during live ITV Money Show

Martin Lewis was back on ITV tonight (Tuesday, March 21) with a brand new episode of his Money Show Live – and the least one of the season.

During the show, the financial guru offered some very handy advice for viewers including checking council tax banding to ensure you’re on the correct tariff and claiming refunds for those who have overpaid.

Wanting to hear some of the studio audience’s experience with claiming a refund, Martin spoke to a lady and asked about her own circumstances with receiving a rebate from her local council.

A member of the studio audience shares her experience on the Martin Lewis Money Show

“The lady over here said something interesting, you got a council tax back didn’t you?”,Martin asks while pointing at the audience.

“I did after what you said,” the woman explains: “It was a few years ago, unfortunately, I got the money back but because I was divorced they sent the cheque to my ex.”

The camera then flips back to Martin who gives off an awkward expression as the audience goes ‘ohhh’ in sympathy..

After a beat, Martin says: “Err, moving on,” before they both start laughing and he changes the subject.

You can catch up with tonight’s Martin Lewis Money Show on ITVX
