Lord Ram, Krishna's teachings to be taught in MP schools, colleges, Congress reacts
The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to include the teachings of the Hindu gods Lord Ram and Lord Krishna in the syllabus for school and college education.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Saturday that the places in the state where Lord Ram had gone will be identified and developed as religious sites under the 'Ram Van Gaman Path' and 'Krishna Path Gaman' projects.
"This was also mentioned in our manifesto. I am happy that we are working on it. We will include Lord Ram and Lord Krishna in the curriculum of higher education and school education," Yadav told reporters.
State Congress President Jitendra Patwari, reacting to the decision, stated it is good to teach about Lord Ram and Lord Krishna, but he highlighted the allegations of paper leaks, corruption, and other discrepancies the government should address.
"The family has taught about Lord Ram, Lord Krishna, and love since childhood. Every father says to become a good person. Lord Ram has taught it. They include it in the book; may God give them wisdom. It is good, but the future of students is affected due to paper leaks. The responsibility lies with the government," news agency ANI quoted the Congress leader.
He added, "What are the reasons behind recruitment scams in the BJP government? Who will take responsibility for them? It is good to teach about Lord Ram and Lord Krishna in the book, but paper leaks, corruption, and scams are sins; the government should avoid them."
Meanwhile, the Chief Priest of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Acharya Satyendra Das, called the Madhya Pradesh government's decision a "good move" and urged that the entire country should follow their example.
He noted that even if one does not consider them as gods, they are great men, and it is good to learn about them. "It is a very good thing. It should be followed in the entire country," he said.
