BPCL Bonus Share Record Date 2024
In the case of BPCL, the company's board has set June 21 as ex-date and June 22 as the record date.
"The Board has recommended issue of Bonus Shares in the ratio of 1:1 i.e. one new bonus equity share of Rs 10 each for every one existing equity shares of Rs 10 each fully paid up subject to the approval of shareholders," the company said in an exchange filing.
"The board has fixed Saturday, 22nd June 2024 as Record date to determine the eligibility of shareholders to receive bonus shares," BPCL said in the filing.
Bonus shares are additional or extra shares that companies issue to their existing shareholders in a certain ratio. The bonus ratio is decided by the board and approved by the members of the company.
Once the bonus shares are issued, the market price of equity shares are adjusted in the ratio of bonus. A bonus issue has no impact on the value of total investment and also on the company's market cap.
