Rashid's comments come after South Africa's encounter with Afghanistan was allocated to Guyana, which led to a long flight for the Afghans and possibly tired them out.

Michael Vaughan Slams ICC Over Scheduling

Before the semi-final between South Africa and Afghanistan, former England captain Michael Vaughan also criticised the ICC's scheduling of the T20 World Cup matches, alleging a bias towards India.

"So Afghanistan qualify for the WC semi winning in St Vincent on Monday night .. 4 hr flight delay on Tues to Trinidad so no time to practice or get accustomed to a new venue .. utter lack of respect to players i am afraid," Vaughan wrote on X.

"Surely this Semi should have been the Guyana one .. but because the whole event is geared towards India it's so unfair on others," he added.

Afghanistan Crash Out Of T20 World Cup

Meanwhile, a clinical South Africa whisked away the Afghan challenge and qualified for their maiden T20 World Cup final with a nine-wicket win over Afghanistan in the semifinal. The Proteas bowled out Afghanistan for a paltry 56. They then raced to the target with 67 balls to spare.

Earlier opting to bat, things went awry for the Afghans as South African pacers made optimum use of the substantial seam movement on offer. Afghanistan were in complete disarray as they lost half their side inside the Powerplay.

The pace trio of Marco Jansen (3/16), Anrich Nortje (2/7) and Kagiso Rabada (2/14) snared seven wickets, while spinner Tabraiz Shamsi (3/6) claimed three wickets.
