'On Floors From July': Lokesh Kanagaraj Shares First Look Photo Of Rajinikanth From Coolie

Coolie will mark the first collaboration between Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth made a comeback with his blockbuster film Jailer in 2023. Nelson Dilipkumar’s directorial was one of the highest-grossing Indian films last year, setting records which are hard to break in the coming years. However, superstar Rajinikanth is in no mood to settle with the recent blockbuster addition to his portfolio. He will be next seen in the films Vettaiyan and Coolie. The former is directed by TJ Gnanavel while the latter is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Thaliavar 171 officially titled Coolie is now garnering headlines after Lokesh Kanagaraj shares the first look of Rajinikanth for the film. He also announced that the film’s shooting will start from next month–July.

The Look Test for Thalaivar 171 was recently conducted. On this occasion, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the stylish look of Rajinikanth. The superstar was seen sitting before the mirror while Lokesh Kanagaraj stood behind him to snap the photo of the actor. Rajinikanth donned a black shirt along with sunglasses of the same colour. In a semi-white beard and smoky hairstyle, the actor looks dashing as he poses for the picture. More than giving a glimpse of a possible look of Rajinikanth in the film, the director also delighted the superstar’s fans with the announcement of the shooting date of Coolie. “Look test for #Coolie. On floors from July” wrote Lokesh Kanagaraj.

As soon as the photo was posted by the filmmaker, the fans flooded the comment box with compliments. “Rs 1000 crore loading,” wrote one of the users. Another fan simply mentioned “Thalaivaa” in respect to the actor.

Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music for the film. The teaser released by the makers consisted of a noteworthy background score that sets the tone for what’s to come. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ranveer Singh and Parvathy Thiruvothu in key roles. Produced by Sun Pictures, Coolie is expected to be released in 2025. This film will mark the first collaboration between director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth.
