Actor Saanand Verma, who is currently seen in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, says that he has never been interested in competing with anyone in his career. He adds that he makes sure to do something different, and hence, is part of no rat race.
“I have never had any sleepless nights thinking about my career because God has been very kind to me, providing opportunities whenever I needed them. By God's grace, my career has been smooth, and I've never had to worry. As far as the rat race is concerned, I'm not interested in that kind of competition. I see myself as a creator and a performer who isn't part of any rat race because I don't repeat the same thing. I continuously improvise and bring something new to each project and character, offering a lot of freshness,” he says.
He adds, “Actually, I wasted a lot of time before pursuing my acting career, so I am already a latecomer to this field by my own choice. I always wanted to be an actor and singer, but family conditions prevented me from doing so. However, once I entered the field, by the grace of God, there was never a time when I thought about giving up acting for a more secure career. That hasn't happened to date, and I believe, pray, and wish that it remains this way always.”
Ask him what is the toughest part about being an actor, and he says, “The toughest part of being an actor is that you are expected to lose yourself in a new character every time. What can be tougher than a job that requires you to kill your original self? The greatest actors of all time, like Daniel Day-Lewis and Marlon Brando, have truly transformed themselves into different characters. This transformation demands that you kill your original self. So, I think this is the toughest part of being an actor. Whenever I start a new project, I aim to offer something different. The rat race is not in my dictionary. Even on social media, I create my original content—everything is written, performed, shot, and directed by me. I rarely make videos based on someone else's work; it's all purely mine. Frankly speaking, I don't like being part of any rat race. I'm absolutely against it and hate the idea of being involved in such a competition.”
