Prabhas-Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD gets U/A certificate, runtime revealed
Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer Kalki 2898 AD is one of the most anticipated films of the year, with its release just a week away. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie has received its certification from the censor board.
The Telugu version of the film has been granted a U/A certificate. The certificate, now viral on social media, reveals that the movie's runtime is 3 hours and 56 seconds. Kalki 2898 AD will indeed be a long film, but that seems to have excited fans. However, the longer runtime might hinder the scheduling of the movie in many theatres, which manage to show five shows a day.
The certificate also reveals that there were only a very few changes done to the film, which seems insignificant, which is in contrast to many movies in recent times.
In Kalki 2898 AD, Prabhas plays Bhairava, who is assigned a bounty of one million by Saswata Chatterjee’s character to capture Deepika Padukone's Sumathi. The film also promises an intriguing showdown between Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan.
Kamal Haasan features in a cameo role as a negative character, and Disha Patani is also part of the ensemble cast. Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore, Kalki 2898 AD is India's most expensive film to date.
A pre-release event in Mumbai saw Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan receiving the first ticket of the film. Kalki 2898 AD is set to release in theatres on June 27, 2024, in multiple languages.
