Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has announced that June 21 is the record date for its upcoming 1:2 bonus share issuance. This means that today, June 20, is the last day to purchase HPCL shares to qualify for the bonus shares.
What 1:2 Bonus Share Issuance Mean?
In simple terms, for every two shares of HPCL that an investor holds, they will receive one additional share. These bonus shares will be credited to the eligible shareholders' Demat accounts by or before July 8, according to the company's previous announcement.
How HPCL Will Fund The Bonus Share Issue?
HPCL will use Rs 709.27 crore from its free reserves or share premium to fund the bonus share issue.
Paid-Up Share Capital
Before the bonus issuance, the company's paid-up share capital stands at Rs 1,418.55 crore. After the issuance, this will increase to Rs 2,127.82 crore.
HPCL Q4 Results: Net Profit
In the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024 (Q4FY24), HPCL reported a net profit of Rs 2,709.31 crore, a 25 per cent decrease compared to the same quarter the previous year.

HPCL Q4 Results 2024: Net Profit For Full Fiscal Year
However, for the entire fiscal year 2023-24, HPCL achieved a record net profit of Rs 16,014.61 crore, a significant turnaround from the Rs 6,980.23 crore loss reported in the previous year.
HPCL Stock Performance
Over the past year, HPCL shares have surged by 89 per cent, and on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, they have gained 29 per cent.
HPCL Share Price Closing
Despite this overall growth, HPCL shares closed 2.73 per cent lower today, at Rs 515.70 on the BSE.
