Doda: The Special Operation Group of Police (SOG) bravehearts have once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to peace and security.
Despite enduring harsh conditions with limited food and water, they relentlessly pursued the terrorists in difficult rugged Doda heights and neutalised them, avenging the June 12 attack on an army camp that left a security personnel injured.
"Today, we can finally heave a sigh of relief. We had resolved not to return to our barracks until we had eliminated that particular group," said one of the SOG personnel involved in this anti-terror operation.
It was on June 12, Pakistani terrorists targeted an SOG patrol party in the Gandoh heights in which one SOG personnel was critically injured. From that moment, the dedicated members of the SOG vowed not to rest until they had neutralised the group responsible for the attack.
Upon receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists in Sinoo Top, the SOG team swiftly cordoned off the area. Army columns also joined them. As the Pakistani terrorists spotted the approaching forces, they opened fire. In the ensuing gun battle, which lasted for seven hours, all three Pakistani terrorists were killed.
"Killing these terrorists is a significant success for us," stated Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police. He added that their task is far from over, as intelligence suggests that three to four terrorist groups remain active in the Doda and Kishtwar zones.
Once again, with their grit and determination, these courageous SOG men have proved that they are the true protectors, standing like a rock to shield innocent, unarmed people from the threats posed by terrorists.
"During operations, we do not think about ourselves or our families. We are completely focused until anti-India elements are eliminated," said another SOG personnel.
Through their selfless actions, these SOG bravehearts ensure peace and prosperity in the region, proving they are the real well-wishers of the community.
