Concerns for Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Heading Into Training Camp?
For NFL rookies, getting a full offseason of work is crucial in hitting the ground running in their first NFL year, and for Kansas City Chiefs speedster Xavier Worthy, his offseason has been up and down.
Worthy had a bumpy rookie minicamp in which dropped passes were consistently highlighted, but he's also had some good moments too. Just when things looked like they were starting to click, Worthy suffered a hamstring injury, which sidelined him for some of minicamp.

There is a hope that he'll be ready for training camp, but at this point, it is just hope. NFL.com's Adam Teicher gave his impressions of Worthy thus far.
“Worthy did not practice for much of the offseason because of a sore hamstring so the Chiefs didn't get an extensive look at him,” Teicher wrote. “The Chiefs said they were being cautious and that barring a setback he should be good to go at training camp. Worthy had an up-and-down performance at the team's rookie camp shortly after he was drafted. He dropped some passes the first day but responded with some big plays at the next practice.”
While Worthy was no doubt taking mental reps after his injury, that can only take you so far. The hope is that the Chiefs speedster will be full-go for training camp, where he can really hone his craft in Andy Reid's offense.
Are there concerns about Worthy heading into training camp? Not overly, being it is his first time in an NFL offseason, and he showed some good signs at minicamp before his injury.
The talent is there, but Worthy, who has already missed some time this offseason, can't afford another setback as the Chiefs look to claim a historic three-peat.
Xavier was signed to be one of Patrick Mahomes' deep-threat weapons, and he's no good to the future Hall of Famer if he's in the treatment room.
No alarm bells are ringing in Kansas City...yet.
