Munjya Box Office: Abhay Verma and Sharvari starrer gives a tough fight to Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion

Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and Sharvari starrer Munjya has been the surprise hit of the month. The maker of the film did minimal promotions of the film, but its trailer and the concept connected to the audience in a such a way that the film managed to earn Rs 35.3 crore in its first week. The love for the film was so much that its numbers began to impact Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s film Mr and Mrs Mahi which was in its second week.

Munjya started its journey into the second weekend competing with Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion who had just started its journey at the box office. And one can safely say that the Maharashtrian folklore is turning out to be quite a tough match for Murlikant Petkar’s biopic directed by Kabir Khan.

Munjya on Friday, earned just Rs 3.5 crore which was just a 10 % drop from Thursday, while Chandu Champion earned Rs 4.75 crore on its opening day. On Saturday while Chandu saw a 42 % jump in its collection to mint Rs 6.75 crore, Munjya’s collection jumped by nearly 80 % to earn Rs 6.25 crore, thus taking the overall collection of the horror comedy to Rs 45.23 crore.
