Arvind Kejriwal News | No Relief For Kejriwal As SC Delays Decision on CM's Bail Pending HC Order
Relief for Arvind Kejriwal As of now, the Supreme Court will be hearing the matter day after tomorrow. That's what we're learning. The Supreme Court has said that they will have to wait for the High Court order on the stay application. So that's big news coming in no relief for Arvind Kejriwal. Remember, he decided to move the court, the Supreme Court given the developments that are taken place in the High Court. But the Supreme Court of the opinion that they're going to wait for the High Court order on this day application. Ananya joins us with more details. The matter will be heard day after tomorrow is what were learning. But what's transpired so far, Ananya? Well, you know the order is likely to come up day after tomorrow. But at this particular point of time the Supreme Court has said that you know, it will not be interfering until the High Court actually passes an order on this day. Application very clearly in categorically the Supreme Court said that, you know if at all it passes an order at this particular point of time, it would be like prejudging this particular issue. However, Arvind Kejriwals counsel led by Mr. Doctor Singhvi and in fact, Mr. Vikram Chaudhry, Jeena advocate, along with the advocate Rishikesh Kumar very clearly pointed out that, you know, this is a travesty of justice and there would be no help would be breaking loose if at all. This man is actually, you know, sent out on the bail because he's already come out on an interim book, come out on interim bail at this particular point time. So we will have to wait and watch as to how things pan out at this particular point of time and how and and whether or not there is a release that would be coming in or the Delhi Chief Minister both from the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. Because all eyes at this particular point of time are on the Delhi High Court as to whether or not it will stay this particular order or whether it would be a big win for the the team of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. OK though the Supreme Court has come out to opine that if it does pass an order today, then its going to be prejudging on the entire case. But its also spoken interestingly Ananya on how they're not expressing any opinion with regards to the merits of the case, especially the arguments that have been put forth by the legal team of Arvind Kejriwal. OK, well just reconnect with Ananya in a bit though that's what's transpired in the Supreme Court. No relief for Arvind Kejriwal as of now. The Supreme Court will be hearing the matter day after tomorrow and will wait for the High Court order on the stay application. Only then we to expect anything from the top court. The Supreme Court, like I said to the Council says were not expressing opinion on the merits as of now. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, arguing for the Enforcement Directorate, was said that this is not a high profile case, everyone is equal before law, something that the Enforcement Directorate has argued time and again. We've seen this particular case play out in different courts of the nation and the Ed said this one thing that everybody is equal before law. Nobody should be treated as a VIP. In fact, this was the contention that was put forth by the Enforcement Directorate while the hearing was underway in the Supreme Court earlier when Arvind Kejriwal sought bail for campaigning ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. And that's what's being reiterated by the Enforcement Directorate. In a sense, the Supreme Court says we are going to take this up day after tomorrow. We're not expressing any opinion with regards to the merit of what has been said by you. So the Solicitor General in as many words says that the court has spoken of how this is not a high profile case because everybody is going to be treated equally before the law. Every person is a common man. The court also tells Enforcement Directorate through the course of the arguments that it must cut short its argument. For now though, the big news coming in from the Supreme Court is that no relief for Arvind Kejriwal will likely to see the Supreme Court take this up once again day after tomorrow. Quick break for now, we will be right back with lots more on the other side to stay tuned.
