WWE SmackDown: Tyler Haliburton trolls Knicks, fellow NBA star Jalen Brunson after Logan Paul loss
It’s a cold world, New York. For while the return of WWE SmackDown to Madison Square Garden on Friday was a massive success, due in part to a standoff between Tyler Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers and Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, it was Haliburton who insisted on having the last laugh.
And it was a hearty one.
“I’m just glad New York won something,” Haliburton said. “I mean, they all feel good out there so good for them. I hope they all sleep well tonight.”
Oof.
It was Haliburton and the Pacers who dismissed Brunson (who suffered a fractured hand in the series and is still recovering) and the Knicks from this year’s NBA playoffs, so his troll job definitely landed in the Empire State after the match.

The Pacers were eliminated in the next round though, so they didn’t exactly win anything either in 2024.
During the “Money In the Bank” triple threat qualifier between Logan Paul, Santos Escobar and LA Knight, it was Knight pinning Paul after Brunson came out of the crowd to stop Haliburton from giving brass knuckles to Paul. Following the pinfall, Knight and Haliburton threatened to jump Knight before Brunson slid a chair into the ring and threatened to use it on his NBA rival.
It was an excellent showing by both NBA superstars, alongside two of the best WWE superstars around.
And it once again proves that wrestling is indeed cool again.
