Met Office Sunday morning weather forecast 30/06/2024

Good morning and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So it's been a bit of a cloudy start for some of us this morning. We've seen a band of rain sinking its way southwards and that eventually clears its way towards the southeast over the next couple of hours, leaving plenty of sunny spells for the majority of the UK. Still remaining a little cloudier across parts of Scotland. Some showery outbreaks of rain here and northern and eastern parts of England likely to see some showers bubbling up through the afternoon. But Northern Ireland, western parts of Wales, southwest England that are likely to see the best of the sunshine. Feeling pleasant in that sunshine too, although temperatures perhaps a touch lower than what we saw yesterday. 22 or 23° in the South and quite widely elsewhere in those mid to high teens. As we then go through the rest of Sunday evening. Showers do continue for a time across northern parts of England, but then generally turning much drier overnight. For the majority of this next system arrives from the northwest affecting Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland. The rain turning particularly heavy across western parts of Scotland through the early hours of Monday morning. Elsewhere though generally staying drier overnight and under those clear spells we could see temperatures dropping down into the mid single figures, but towns and cities generally holding up above 10°. Under that cloud and rain as well. So that does mean that for parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland, cloudy and damp start to the area of rain continues to push its way eastwards through Monday morning. Although the southeast of England still holding onto a bit of sunshine for as that system clears its way towards the east, western parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and southwest England definitely seeing a bit of sunshine through the afternoon. Temperatures are looking similar to what we saw on Sunday, so in the low 20s, but further north generally staying in those mid to high teens. There is further wet weather on the way later in the week. You can find out more about that by subscribing to our YouTube channel Bye Bye.
