Two German nationals among three women killed in QLD bus crash
Four patients from Sunday's fatal crash remain in hospital in Townsville. A 24 year old man remains in a critical condition and a 23 year old man is serious but stable. Of the remaining patients, two men aged 27 and 51 are all stable. Of the three casualties, it's been confirmed by the German Embassy in Canberra that two were German nationals. They were both women aged in their 20s and 30s. Both the embassy and the German Consulate General in Sydney are providing consular assistance in coordination with local authorities in Australia and Germany. The third casualty has been identified as a 56 year old woman from Townsville. Forensic investigators are still piercing together what led to the crash north of Bowen. Police say early investigations indicate the bus carrying 33 people veered onto the wrong side of the Bruce Hwy. before colliding with A4 Wheel Drive towing a caravan. They'll investigate whether road conditions and fatigue contributed to the crash.
