'Kalki' box office records: Prabhas's 2nd-biggest opener, beats 'Salaar', 'Adipurush'
'Kalki 2898 AD' was finally released on Thursday and, as expected, it set the box office on fire in India and worldwide. Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in the lead, the film began on a solid note at the box office, leading to many records everywhere. After collecting a nett figure of Rs 95 crore, it became the second-biggest film of Prabhas's career after the unbeatable 'Baahubali 2'.
The Nag Ashwin directorial is only behind 'Baahubali 2' on the list of the top Prabhas openers at the Indian box office. SS Rajamouli's film collected Rs 121 crore nett on its first day. 'RRR' remains the biggest Indian opener ever with a whopping Rs 133 crore on day 1. 'Saaho' and 'Salaar-Part I: Ceasefire', which are also on the list collected Rs 89 crore and Rs 90 crore, respectively.

'Fighter', another Deepika-starrer, opened at Rs 22.50 crore at the box office. 'Kalki' goes past this figure with its Hindi version opening at Rs 24 crore on Thursday.
The dystopian film which combines the elements of science-fiction and Indian mythology, also saw the biggest premiere for an Indian film in North America ever. As per a report published on the trade website sacnilk, the film grossed around $4 million with its premiere in NA, beating 'RRR' which grossed $3.65 million(Rs 30.50 crore) on its premiere day.

The word on social media is largely positive, and it will help the film to set some new records and break a few existing ones at the box office.
