d.light CEO Nick Imudia is Dead, Cause of Death Mysterious
- The Lagos state police command has confirmed the death of the chief executive officer of d.light, Nick Imudia
- Police reported that Imudia, who once led one of Nigeria’s e-commerce giants, died under mysterious circumstances at his apartment on the evening of June 25
- At the time of his death, Imudia was the CEO of Nairobi-based d.light, a company providing solar solutions for low-income families

Lekki, Lagos state - The CEO of d.light, Nick Imudia, has been found dead at his residence in Lagos, Nigeria.

TUKO.co.ke has learnt that Imudia died on the evening of Tuesday, June 25, under unexplainable circumstances.
Local media in Nigeria reported that Imudia had earlier called his US-based brother to give him instructions on how to distribute his wealth.
Imudia also called his young daughter to inform her that he would always be there for her.
The businessman’s friends, family, and associates are still in shock about what could have ended the life of the vibrant businessman.
The state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the tragic incident on Thursday, June 27.
Hundeyin said:
“Yes, it is true. He died on June 25.”
Nick Imudia and d.light Kenya
In Nairobi, Imudia was steering the d.light company, a firm making transformative products for low-income families. Among the products they make available include solar-powered lights, flashlights, TVs and radios.
Earlier, Imudia served as the CEO of Konga, an e-commerce giant in Nigeria.
In February this year, Imudia was recognised and ranked 16th in the 2024 MO 100 Impact ranking for the role d.light has been playing in the lives of low-income households.
Family Bank chairman Francis Gitau Mungai dies in US
Elsewhere, Family Bank Board of Directors and Management announced the death of Francis Gitau Mungai, who recently became chairman.
The board expressed their deep regret over Mungai's passing and extended their heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the architectural community.
Mungai was set to succeed Wilfred Kiboro. Kiboro is retiring after a successful tenure since 2012, having steered Family Bank through the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2016 banking crisis.
