The governor, in a statement, termed the post fake and asked the people of Uasin Gishu and Kenya at large to ignore it.
He accused his opponents and political distractors of concocting fake statements to fuel ethnic clashes and destabilise the peaceful county.
"It has come to our attention that unscrupulous individuals are consistently producing and disseminating fake statements attributed to the governor of Uasin Gishu. These false statements are intended to mislead the public and undermine the county of Uasin Gishu," read the governor's statement.
The county boss asked the public to only believe information shared through the county government's official communication channels to avoid being duped by individuals determined to cause chaos.
"We wish to remind the public that all official communication from the governor's office are disseminated through formal channels. Any information not released through these channels should be considered unverified and potentially false," added the governor.
What post is Jonathan Bii responding to
The Uasin Gishu county boss was responding to a statement that portrayed him as a tribal leader who was against other tribes living in the county.
He restated his commitment to serving every Kenyan living in Uasin Gishu equally, as required by the constitution.
The governor also assured Uasin Gishu residents who felt threatened by the fake statements of safety and asked them to go about their businesses without any fear or intimidation
"This targeted campaign of false information is a deliberate attempt to disparage the office of the governor and his administration. We hereby urge the public to remain vigilant and disregard any unofficial statements," he said.
