Aussies win cars in YouTube star’s huge giveaway
YouTube star Mr. Beast has spent today giving away free cars at the Sydney Opera House as part of his chocolate bar relaunch here Down Under. Let's bring in James Wilson. James Jimmy Donaldson has just given away a Lamborghini. Pretty good prize isn't it? Market took two very long and I'm not gonna lie, at times painstaking hours for all 10 cars to finally be given away to these fans throwing this footy at this board time and time again to pick off the car that they were hoping for. But finally, around half an hour ago, this Lamborghini Hurricane worth half $1,000,000 was picked off by Sergio from Sydney. And what a moment it was. 4 1/2 thousand screaming fans here to witness the top prize going off. Let me take you back to that moment very quickly. I wanted to thank you all for cheering me up. I think they couldn't make it. My daughter's still at home. Friends couldn't make it. But it's going to be crazy. But I'm really, really happy. Mark, of course, this was all part of Mr. B's promotional relaunch of his chocolate bar. The festivals right now at the Seagulls are tucking into what's left of them on the ground. But it brought people together from all over the country. We had somebody from New Zealand even come over here to compete and watch this spectacle, which will now go on his YouTube, which is subscribed by around 300 million people. We had the chance to catch up with Jimmy Donaldson himself, a man who's worth $750 million. Here's what he had to say about the day and visiting Sydney. It's been great so far. Weirdly enough, I visited Antarctica before Australia. We've never done a video live like this, so it's pretty awesome at the Sydney Opera House and then we're going to film a video here. Pretty cool stuff here, Mark. Mr. Beast. Of course, it it takes you back to the scenes of when Oprah Winfrey was in fact here on this very forecourt giving away prizes as well. Certainly a new mega star of the Internet generation whose video will now be watched by hundreds of millions of people. We'll bring you our take on today's plays on 9 News at 6:00 PM Mark. OK, James, thank you.
