Taylor Swift's grand welcome in Ireland marked by a massive 100m beach sign as she lands for Aviva Stadium shows

Country turned pop superstar Taylor Swift has officially touched down in Ireland, and she's here to perform a trio of sold-out concerts at Dublin's Aviva stadium over the weekend as part of her critically acclaimed Eras Tour.

Our songstress arrived earlier today, with her private aircraft touching down at Dublin Airport just before noon, following a short trip from London's Stansted Airport. Her arrival was tracked by aviation enthusiast Shaun Dunne, who shared it on his Instagram account @Shauns_Aviation - he even spotted Taylor as she entered Terminal 2.

Despite the eagle-eyed fans spotting her, we can't help but wonder did Taylor see the massive welcoming sign created especially for her on one of Dublin's beaches?

Taylor Swift's welcome sign

A joint effort from TodayFM and Mack Signs saw the sprawling "Ireland (Taylor's Version)" sign, a cheeky homage to her re-recorded albums, crafted onto the sand, reports RSVP Live.

Today FM even posted a behind-the-scenes video showing the creation of the impressive installation, providing some perspective on the scale of the project. To put it into context, the signage is around 100 metres wide about the length of two Olympic-sized swimming pools all prepared in just one week by a dedicated team of seven.

Here's hoping that Taylor managed to catch a glimpse of the heartfelt welcome from her jet window as she arrived in Dublin this morning.

Roisin Reilly, Head of Marketing at Today FM, expressed: "Taylor Swift is nothing short of a cultural phenomenon and a huge artist for Today FM listeners. Her Ireland gigs have been eagerly awaited for months and now that Taylor weekend is here, we wanted to celebrate her arrival in a unique and novel way."

"We had a blast creating this installation and if Taylor herself happens to see it, even better! The team at Mack Signs really went above and beyond with this one and the Irish weather even cooperated!"

Dublin city is set for a massive weekend of music and sport, with attendees being warned of taxi shortages, traffic delays and diversions, and high demand for public transport services.

Taylor Swift will be performing, music festival Longitude will be happening at Marlay Park, the Dublin Pride parade will be taking place, alongside numerous associated Pride events across the weekend. Shania Twain will also be performing at Malahide Castle and Jane's Addiction at Trinity College on Friday, while on Saturday, The Saw Doctors are scheduled to perform at Fairview Park and The Villagers will be live in Trinity.

In sports events, the GAA Senior Football Championship takes place with Armagh v Roscommon and Dublin v Galway matches in Croke Park on Saturday, followed by the Donegal v Louth and Kerry v Derry quarter-final matches on Sunday.
