HOUSTON — The day after Thanksgiving is traditionally a big shopping day for people looking to cash in on the bargains galore.

Every year, Black Friday deals and steals attract eager shoppers who are willing to brave the crowds to save some some money.

The boom in online shopping means smaller crowds and less chaos. Still, it’s considered the unofficial kickoff to the holiday shopping season and retailers count on the boost in sales to meet their bottom line each year. That’s why a lot of them open earlier and close later than usual.
