HOUSTON — Authorities are searching for a California woman who was reported missing after not boarding a flight back home after being treated at a Houston clinic for more than a month, according to police.

Police said Danielle Becker Friedland, 36, was supposed to get on a flight back to San Francisco from George Bush Intercontinental Airport on Wednesday night, but never boarded.

Authorities said Friedland spent six weeks getting treatment at the Menniger Clinic on Main Street. They said she has been diagnosed with depression, mood disorder psychosis, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder. They also said she had had suicidal ideations and had previously mentioned that she wanted to be homeless.

She hasn’t contacted her husband, who lives in Piedmont, California. Police said she intentionally left her phone at the airport. She doesn’t have another phone or tablet and doesn’t have any known family in Texas.

Police said she left the airport in a cab and only had $160 in cash and a debit card.

She’s described as being about 5 feet, 1 inch tall, 100 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a blue puffy jacket with blue and orange stripes, blue jogger pants and a black suitcase.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to email Piedmont Police Department detectives at [email protected].
