Michigan unveils uniform combination for National Championship Game
With just over 24 hours to go before the Michigan Wolverines take the field in the National Championship Game, the team announced its uniform choice for the game on Sunday afternoon. In the final game of the historic 2023 college football season, the Wolverines are opting to go with blue jerseys and blue pants.
In addition to the blue pants, the blue jersey will also be donned with the 2024 College Football Playoff logo and chrome Jordan emblem. The Wolverines also appear to be going with blue accessories.
It’s somewhat fitting that Michigan chose to go with the all-blue uniform combination for Monday’s matchup with Washington, as it was against Washington in 2021 that the Wolverines have debuted the look. Michigan won the 2021 matchup in dominant fashion by a final score of 31-10 in the Big House, controlling the game on the ground with Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins combining for 326 yards and four touchdowns.
The uniform combination sometimes referred to as the “big game blues” has since been featured for many of Michigan’s biggest games over the last three seasons, including the two most recent home games against Ohio State and its Orange Bowl matchup with Georgia.
This will also mark the fifth time this season that Michigan has gone with the all blue look. The Wolverines previously went with this uniform combination for night games against Bowling Green and Purdue, as well as against Indiana and the aforementioned win over Ohio State.
It’s not currently known what Washington’s uniform choice will be for the game.
Michigan will do battle with the Huskies on Monday night with kickoff scheduled to come shortly after 7:30 p.m. with the main broadcast on ESPN and additional broadcasts on the company’s other networks as part of its traditional “MegaCast.”
