This Morning tensions rise as Nick Ferrari snaps at guest in fiery celeb debate
Things took a frosty turn during the latest instalment of This Morning as temperatures skyrocket during a tense debate.
Presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were back at the helm on Thursday (June 27) to discuss the latest news headlines with guests Ashley James and LBC radio host Nick Ferrari. Sharing their opinions on topical matters, Ben and Cat later asked the pair on their thoughts regarding celebrities being involved in political matters.
The question was in reference to Rishi Sunak declaring David Tennant as "the problem" amid a spat between MP Kemi Badenoch and the actor over women’s and trans rights. Sharing their thoughts on the matter, both Ashley and Nick agreed that celebs should be allowed to share their thoughts on politics.
But the conversation soon turned icy when Ashley mentioned that trans peoples lives are "put at risk" when the government try to "stoke culture wars". But Nick quickly bit back.

He said: "How does that improve the situation? How on earth does that by upping the ante..." Ashley quickly interjected: "I completely agree with what you're saying, however, I also think you have to be mindful."
Seeing things turn tense in the studio, fans at home also chimed in on the debate on whether celebs should be allowed to voice their policitcl opions. Heading over to X, one viewer said: "Why does Ashley James think it's only their opinion that matters and us mere scum are not allowed to have one."

Another penned: "As a female I do not want someone as privileged, out of touch & Rich as Trashley to speak on my behalf- she has no clue." While another added: "Did Cat Deeley just say should 'we' stay out of politics? Obviously loves calling herself a celeb lol."
The news of the debate comes after Doctor Who actor David recently won a prize for being a "celebrity ally" at the British LGBT Awards last week. During his acceptance speech, David targeted Ms Badenoc after the Business Secretary plans to ban transgender women from women’s lavatories.

However, until we wake up and Kemi Badenoch doesn’t exist any more – I don’t wish ill of her, I just wish her to shut up. Whilst we do live in this world, I am honoured to receive this.”
