Australians believe ‘more competition’ in energy market will ‘protect’ them
RedBridge Group Director Simon Welsh says Australians believe if there is “more competition” in the energy market they will be “protected”.
Opposition leader Peter Dutton unveiled the Coalition’s nuclear plan last week.
“They will talk about this these sorts of ideas of we need to diversify our energy mix because that provides us an insulation from those big energy companies that keep ratcheting up the prices on us,” Mr Welsh told Sky News Australia.

“If there’s more supply in the market, if there’s more competition in the market, if there’s more sources providing it, that … will give us protection.”
