Carol Kirkwood was caught off-guard by Naga's comment

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty sparked a bit of an awkward moment with weather presenter Carol Kirkwood over her dress choice on Thursday's show.

Naga, gearing up for the weather update, quipped: "Carol, have you ever played that game where you lie down and look at the clouds and you see what the shapes are? ". Unaware that Naga was alluding to her own cloud-patterned dress, Carol cheerfully responded: "Yes, you often see faces or animals."

But Naga confessed: "Yes, well, I did listen to some of what you are saying but I was playing that game with your dress." Caught off guard by the comment, Carol chuckled and said: "I dread to think what you saw, Naga..." Naga teased she would reveal her findings later, stating: "I am going to look throughout the day and find all the shapes."

As Carol nervously laughed off the banter, she "thanked" Naga, who jovially replied: "My pleasure." The playful exchange raised eyebrows among viewers, with one tweeting on X, previously known as Twitter: "#bbcbreakfast Shut up Naga... The banter is neither funny nor clever."

Another viewer expressed their discomfort: "Of [redacted] Naga's banter with Carol? Cringe #bbcbreakfast." In another segment, Carol found herself blushing when BBC Breakfast's sports presenter Mike Bushell jokingly suggested spending the night with her in a tent. Mike announced his plans to camp out overnight to ensure a spot at Wimbledon next week, mentioning that Carol would be there too.

He mentioned his accommodation would be a three-man tent, leading Naga to question who his tennis companion might be. His response was: "No one, I mean Carol is welcome to come and join me," which led to Naga's enthusiastic reaction: "Oh she'd love that!"

Co-presenter Charlie Stayt jumped in with: "I think the offer's on the table. Carol. Are you there? Is it a yes or a no?" The broadcast then cut to Carol, who was visibly blushing and laughing, clearly feeling "put on the spot".
